VIPs,
wealthy individuals, senior executives and their
family members are targeted by both criminal and
terrorist elements, for political, ideological,
religious, economic and personal reasons.
VIP security is one of the most complex security
specializations. Not only does it deal with the
protection of human life – of the VIP in
question and of those surrounding him in his work
environment and home – but also in view
of the multifaceted skills VIP security agents
must master. This is also true in the case of
delegations, which are an easier target as they
comprise a number of potential targets grouped
together.
B.P.S. attributes particular importance to VIP
security, requiring its members to meet the exceptionally
high international standards defined by its founders
and honorary
members, who have accumulated extensive expertise
and operational experience in this particular
domain as Detail Leaders and VIP Security Agents
within the framework of the Israel Security Agency
(ISA) and equivalent units in Europe, the USA
and additional countries, in protecting heads
of state and visiting dignitaries. They subsequently
adapted the security concepts and methods they
had helped develop for their designated governmental
units to the civilian sector, and have implemented
them in the protection of world-renowned business
executives, entertainers, etc.
While
the goal of the VIP security agent is to protect
the VIP and those surrounding him/her from harm, it
is also essential to allow them to continue living
their lives with minimal disruption.
The goal of B.P.S.-certified providers of VIP
and delegation security solutions is to prevent
an incident, instead of thwarting it when it is
already in progress. They must therefore be experts
in the use of firearms, in advanced hand-to-hand
combat methods and in tactical thinking. They
must become familiar with potential adversaries
and their modus operandi; be knowledgeable in
the development of dynamic, layered security solutions;
in preparing a site for the arrival of the VIP;
in protecting him/her at his/her place of work and residence,
as well as when traveling; etc. Most importantly,
they must know how to quickly adapt a pre-planned
security program to meet changes in circumstances
or plans that change unexpectedly, and in threats
detected on the move.
A wide range of training
programs are offered by B.P.S. to those requiring
additional know-how and expertise in order to
be certified B.P.S. providers of VIP security
services, as well as to those desiring to further
elevate their level of performance and expand
their areas of specialization.
