B.P.S.'s
founding members include a former Commissioner
of the Israeli Police Force, as well as several
additional high-ranking police officers –
all of whom have accumulated broad know-how and
experience in the diverse aspects of police work
in high-threat environments, involving both urban
crime; large-scale, violent demonstrations; and
frequent terror attacks. Together, they have established
the high professional standards for police units
that B.P.S. members are required to meet.
When defining these standards, B.P.S.'s specialists
have taken into account the operational characteristics
of specific units, such as SWAT teams, intelligence
units, crime prevention units, forensic science
units, polygraph testers, K9 units and more.
B.P.S. offers a wide range of
training
programs for the above police units and applications,
to enhance existing capabilities or upgrade the
units' professional level to include the capacity
to carry out additional types of missions. The
rich curricula reflect the broad expertise and
operational experience accumulated by the Association's
experts. The diverse courses cover the required
know-how for each position in each type of unit
– from the level of the patrolman through
the different specializations in various designated
units (special task force combatants, forensic
science experts, etc.) to all management positions
at the local, regional and national levels. The
international B.P.S. Association provides consulting
services in the design of the most suitable training
program for each client and each need, with the
aim of ensuring optimal results.
