Application

Individuals

Men and women 18 years of age and above may apply for membership by filling out the Application Form. Individuals must present a certificate from their local police force confirming that they do not have a criminal record. They will also be required to meet certain basic acceptance criteria as determined specifically for each course and program, relating, for example, to a minimal level of formal education, physical fitness and the like. A minimum of 50 hours of training are required In order to qualify individuals as members of the B.P.S. Association with an official, personal B.P.S. badge, and certificate.
Membership is based on a four-tier system, dependent on the member's professional level, based on the number of hours of training successfully completed:
50– 150 hours of training – bronze-level membership
150 – 250 hours of training – silver-level membership
250 – 350 hours of training – gold-level membership
350 hours of training and above – platinum-level membership
The training program required of individuals with proven expertise and experience in the field of security will be adapted on the basis of their specific know-how, skills and professional background.
 
Official bodies
Official state-sponsored or federally authorized bodies operating in the field of security, such as police units, law enforcement units, security units, anti-terror units and more, will be required to maintain some form of professional contact with the B.P.S. Association in order to be eligible for membership. This may include participation and successful completion of a B.P.S. training program, receipt of security consulting services from the Association, or other form of professional relations. All activity carried out between B.P.S. and official bodies will fully comply with the specific countries' laws.
Private companies
Private companies active in the field of security and defense may apply for membership. In order prove eligibility, these companies will be required to demonstrate their professional level to B.P.S. management. This may be done through the provision of access to company information, protected by a confidentiality agreement to be signed between the applicant and the Association, which will protect the company's rights. B.P.S. will then evaluate the company and determine whether it meets the Association's high professional standards, or whether participation in a training program is also required prior to acceptance as a member.
